Mulevika, the beach pardise

Actually, the sandy area is rather sparse, it's a long walk and the water is rather cold (but this particular day last week was not at all common, and so the water was wonderful to swim in), but being able to swim in the long waves of the Atlantic with no land masses to slow it down, is a powerful feeling.

Edit: For the history savvy of you, the rift you see in the back is actually a gap between two islands, Nerlandsøya (which is where I'm standing taking this picture) and Skorpa. This small strait is completely uninhabited and dark at night, and during WW2 this was the main entrance and leaving point for a large number of the trips undertaken by the Shetland Bus, in fact Shetland Larsen had to take cover in a small sheep shed at the Skorpe-side of the strait at at least one occasion, and used by both British and Norwegian agents on several other occasions.
