IgesundMulevika, the beach pardiseActually, the sandy area is rather sparse, it's a long walk and the water is rather cold (but this particular day last week was not at all common, and so the water was wonderful to swim in), but being able to swim in the long waves of the Atlantic with no land masses to slow it down, is a powerful feeling. Edit: For the history savvy of you, the rift you see in the back is actually a gap between two islands, Nerlandsøya (which is where I'm standing taking this picture) and Skorpa. Summer is hereLast week me and my son went back to Igesund again. My eldest brother came up from Valencia with all the kids, my second brother came up from Bergen with his kids and my third brother came up from Oslo, all of them with their respective spouses. My mother was already there, organizing the house, of course. It was a really great occasion, as it was the first time in almost 5 years that we were all together and it was also a first for all the cousins (especially since they keep getting added to :). Since we're all fans of really good food, every night becomes a gourmet night, and we take turns on making the food. The best new experience for me was the Spanish apple and salmon salad, whereas I made Igesund April 2006I visited my home place last weekend. The winter has been colder than usual and the snow just left. The Island to the right is Skorpa, whereas the tip of land in the horizon is Stadt, the western corner of Norway.
